Remote Support

Sometimes tech support issues can be solved remotely. In such cases you can follow the instructions that follow on this page, allowing me to connect to your computer, and remotely control your keyboard and mouse.

Please note: I can only connect to your computer if you start the process, and even then you must give me permission to do so. I CANNOT connect to your computer unless you ask me to, and start the process.

1. To start this, download the remote computer support tool.

When asked what to do, choose to download the file, and take note of where the file will be saved (choosing the Desktop can make things simple).

2.Call Les at 306-241-0757 to set up the remote session.

When instructed to do so, double-click on the file you just downloaded. It is called BitlinkSupport.exe, and should look like this.

3. If you are asked about running unsafe programs – answer YES.

If you are asked about allowing this program through a firewall – answer YES.

4. When the Remote Support tool starts, you will a red box like this. Click on the button in that red box that says “Connect”.

5. Your firewall may ask for permission to allow “PcHelpware server” through. Allow it. You should see a status window like this.
Then I will complete the connection, and you will see your cursor moving. You can watch as I work.

6. When I have finished, I will disconnect, and you will again see the initial connection box. Click on the “Quit” button.

That will end the remote support session, and I can no longer connect to your computer.
